For the first time in 13 years, Lyra has recorded a CD—and we want to shout it from the rooftops! Join us at our CD release party to celebrate the successful recording of three imaginative, challenging, and yet rarely recorded pieces of C.P.E. Bach’s music:

  • Flute Concerto in G Major, Wq. 169
  • Harpsichord Concerto in C Minor, Wq. 37
  • Flute Concerto in D Major, Wq. 13

The recording features world-renowned soloists Jacques Ogg (harpsichord) and Wilbert Hazelzet (baroque flute), along with guest concertmaster Marc Destrubé (baroque violin). The project also highlights the strength of Lyra’s core of local musicians. It is their enthusiasm and hard work that have brought Lyra, thriving, into our fourth decade of music-making.

The recording process:

In April 2018, Lyra spent four full, inspiring days at Vasa Lutheran Church in Welch, Minnesota. Following the recording stage, we entered the phase of editing and producing. Now, we are ready to share the music with you!
