Join us on a journey through Rome’s Golden Age of music, where we celebrate the incredible musical heritage of the Eternal City through the works of Arcangelo Corelli and his contemporaries, whose work from the heart of Italy left an indelible mark on the rest of of the Baroque world.

Experience a rare and captivating musical event as the Lyra Baroque Orchestra teams up with the Grinnell College Choir to present Jan Dismas Zelenka's magnificent Missa Votiva. This collaboration brings together the Lyra Baroque Orchestra, renowned for its historically informed performances on period instruments, and the talented Grinnell Singers, under the direction of Professor John Rommereim.

Italian musical influence was dominant across the Alps in Austria, where Italian composers such as Bertali and Valentini made their mark on the music of their Austrian counterparts. Step into the resplendent world of the Habsburg Court with Mystic Fire, a programme exploring the breathtaking virtuosity in Biber’s masterworks, the astonishingly unique style of Valentini, and the rich tapestry of sound in Schmelzer and Bertali, brought to life by strings and trumpets that will amaze you.
